Thanksgiving Menu 2010

That picture is, unfortunately, not mine.  I don't have any current pictures of my Thanksgiving food, but I promise that after Thanksgiving, I will post many of the recipes I used up here.  About a week ago I finalized my Thanksgiving menu.  If you can't tell, I'm really excited about it.  It's the first time I will host Thanksgiving, and although it will be small, it will be awesome.  Here's the menu:

Appetizers
My Mother-in-Law's Cheese Ball

Main Course
Roasted Turkey and Gravy - my husband is the one who cooks the turkey, so we'll see what he comes up with this year!

Sides
Fresh Cranberry Sauce
Green Bean Casserole
Mashed Potatoes
Stuffing (I'm still trying to decide between 2 recipes for this)
My Grandmother's Snail Rolls with Compound Herb Butter and Honey Butter

Dessert
Pumpkin Pie with Sweetened Whipped Cream

What can you not live without on your Thanksgiving table?  I would love to know!  Any other traditions that you really enjoy?  What about ideas for leftovers?

OK, so I just figured out this is your blog, and I am super glad I found it!

That meal looks soooo good! But, I definitely couldn't live without spinach mashed potatoes cover in cheddar cheese.

I require a fried turkey. I used to scoff at this tradition, but once I tasted it, I will never go back to another turkey style again. The fried turkey is SO MOIST and amazingly flavorful. It makes eating that turkey for the next 5 days in sandwich and other forms not unbearable.

I require sweet potato casserole. I always divide the topping between small marshmallows and pecans with brown sugar sprinkled over them. Just to hit both sides. Green bean casserole is another must in my household.

I like those rolls you can buy from the store that are in the tin pan? I know, it's sad, but I think those yeast rolls are delicious. :)
